Feets up!

Winter is time for Wellness – the MT will get new parts. To protect my boots from scratching on the street I ordered an adjustable rearset.

Initially i had three rearsets in mind. TRW, Lightec and Gilles. All three can be used with the quickshifter and they have a certificate (ABE) for operation. Finally I decided for the Gilles, which is a little higher on price. Once ordered, the parcel arrived pretty quick and I had to unbox it right away. This rearset is certainly an eyecandy and the quality is great. So I was really keen to get this stuff mounted on a Sunday.

For all who want to do this themselves: Hand it over to your trusted mechanic! One side of the original MT rearset uses the shaft that is the pivot point for the suspension of the Rear tire. So you need to lift the entire bike, replace the shaft temporarily by another one, to unmount the original rearset. This is not made for me – so I gave the Job to Cati, my mechanic.

Late January I could pick up my MT from Cati. I really fell in love with the new rearset – it is just made for that bike! The rearset for the pillion rider has been removed as well. On the MT anyhow only a really brave, or a clinging person could use the rearseat while riding. The adjustment of the rearset is very easy and extremely flexible. On top of that I will get the certification from the German TÜV, because i purchased as well the foldable foot pegs.

Feets up from now!
